This one is for everyone who spent any part of their childhood in the 90’s… if you don’t know what my shirt is, you should probably go elsewhere for the next 300 or so words. I love that fashion allows you to be who you are, no judgement. Well, maybe I got judged for wearing a Lisa Frank muscle tee to work but I wore a cardigan over it most of the day to make myself less conspicuous and slightly less juvenile, but it was a Friday so compared to the hungover girls in Lululemon and oversized flannels I was probably overlooked. One of my best friends and I saw this shirt pop up on Urban Outfitters (one of my favorite spots with an affinity for old school t-shirts as you know from this post) and we had to buy it – yes tandemly in different cities (because that’s what Lisa Frank besties do).

I spent a few minutes googling back for Lisa Frank inspiration and was unbelievably excited to revive my memory of Trapper Keepers. What are those you ask? Let me remind you! They were these velcro, tri-fold binders that everyone had in elementary school instead of a lame ordinary binder. I can’t even believe these beauties slipped my memory for the past 20 years. Even more amazing is the fact that upon finding one on eBay I realized that the caption was for a ‘rare vintage’ one. Ouch #toosoontobevintage. Additionally I found myself looking at other momentos from the 90’s… Pogs, Talkboy, Scratch-n-sniff stickers, beanie babies, Lite-Brite, Polly Pocket, Mall Madness, Girl Talk, Tamagotchi, Puppy surprise, Skip-It, and Gak. With that, I’m off to remind myself that I’m a real adult… right after I play pogs with my roommate. Kidding!

The coolest part of this outfit is this vintage 1970 necklace turned belt from Grey Parachutes. Lulu the founder and owner of this amazing Austin boutique has done a fabulous job of curating a collection of gorgeous vintage jewelry and clothes. You can also shop her ASOS e-boutique! I’m super excited to be giving away a ring in combination with Grey Parachutes! Here are the details:

This is such a great post; it honestly made my morning. I owned a trapper keeper and it was FULL of Lisa Frank folders. I believe I also had a Lisa Frank-themed ceramics birthday party when I was in elementary school. #iwascool.

The Grey Parachutes ring is gorgeous! Perfect compliment to spring pastels.
