I haven’t talked about this trip in a really long time, but today’s outfit and the fact that Labor Day is finally here is bringing it to the forefront of my mind. I shared a year and a half ago that we were going to Korea to visit where I was born for the first time. After over 30 years of wondering what Korea is like, we were finally headed to experience it with MG and my parents. As most of you guys know (for a lot of reasons) we didn’t end up being able to take the trip last year, and at the time I was incredibly disappointed. It had been a lot of emotional buildup and I was just plain bummed.
Fast forward and we ended up re-booking the trip at the beginning of this year. This time it was different – it almost didn’t feel real. After coming so close to making the trip the first time it was almost like I didn’t want to count our chickens before they hatched, so I’ve just didn’t think about it as often.
But Labor Day is here, and it’s finally sinking in that we’ll be headed to Korea in just over a month to finally see where I was born (and so much more). Now that it’s becoming a reality I’ve found myself starting to plan for the trip again. This will be the longest trip MG or I have ever taken, so I really want to make sure I’m comfortable and cozy on the plane.
I fell in love with Monrow a few years back after discovering that it’s made of some of the softest material you’ll ever put on your body. When I started thinking about what I wanted to be wearing on our 15+ hour flight this was the first brand that came to mind. I don’t wear sweats all that often, but athleisure is a completely acceptable style in my office and generally in New York City so I love the idea of putting a twist on basic sweats.
These pants are comfortable and lightweight making it easy to run around on a crisp fall day or to wear on a plane and then pack in your personal item if you want to change when you arrive. I paired it with this rainbow stripe sweatshirt – it’s just as comfortable as the pants and the stripes make for a fun pop of color! While you can find Monrow at many boutiques these days I always order pieces like this from Bloomingdale’s. My outfit arrived in just a few days and I was easily able to swap out for the right size bottoms that I needed. It couldn’t have been easier!
This is such a big shopping weekend and a great chance to scoop up pieces like these on sale or with free shipping! Bloomingdale’s is one of my go-to’s for special pieces (like our first crystal and the dress I wore for our engagement party!). I associate outfits with memories and I know I’ll remember this trip every time I wear this top and these cozy sweats.
Happy Labor Day weekend you guys!
