Most days when I stand in our closet and try to decide what to wear to get dressed I end up in some kind of top and jeans. Admittedly, I’m a blouse girl. I don’t know how it happened, but I have more tops than I know what to do with. I fell in love with Equipment blouses a handful of years ago and then Parker blouses, this summer Ann Taylor crossover blouses and now I just can’t stop!
The tricky thing for me has been that the tops I used to love were ex-pen-sive. With a dress you can justify a higher price tag, but I find it tough to spend a ton on tops unless they’re staples that I know I’ll take great care of. This fall I really wanted to find some options that were affordable and also felt more wintery.
I fell in love with this top from Anthropologie in my favorite shade and silhouette for the season. The high neck and subtle pattern make for an elevated look that can easily be paired with a high waisted skirt and heels if you’re feeling fancy. The smocked sleeves are a gorgeous touch and a detail that you shouldn’t overlook!
I don’t know about you guys, but the sales last week were insane and a bit overwhelming. I keep spotting tops under $100 that I want to scoop up, like this wrapped pullover with flutter sleeves and this silk cami that I did in fact purchase last week. If I could I’d scoop this top up in black and navy, too. Don’t you love finding beautiful pieces that don’t break the bank?
