2017 Travels with Away

away suitcase, luggage, travel, travel style

Woo hoo! January is in the books and I’m happy to say it was a really quiet one. By the end of the holidays I just felt like I was running on empty and needed to hit the reset button – like 8 times over.

That being said I’m rested and ready to hit the road this year! We’ve been looking at our wedding agenda for 2017 (which thankfully is a little tamer than last year) and starting to plan our weekends away.

We’re headed to West Palm Beach this weekend for a quick trip to support MG and his best friend’s company, Ice Goddess. If you’re anywhere around the area come say hi and grab a paleta or slush from us! I’ve never been to a horse show and don’t think I’ve truly ever been to Palm Beach, so I love that we get to mark this as another first together.

This will be our first trip of the year and I’ll be breaking out my new suitcase from Away.

In my early 20’s I spent 1/3 of my waking time in airports. With my first job out of college I was flying twice a week, every week for almost 3 years. My Dad had spent the better part of his adult life doing the same thing and so had taught me a lot about savvy business travel and how to really do it right.

I found out pretty quickly dragging all of my own stuff (including a 30 lb. ugly brick of a corporate laptop) was really tough with a traditional suitcase and immediately made a switch to a spinner that I could pull, push or drag.

I’m happy to say that now most of my travel is for fun. With so many friends getting married lately and a few fun trips of our own in the books, I’m always excited to pull out my suitcase and load it up for the next adventure that awaits us.

The Away suitcases are perfect for an everyday traveler, like me. I’m usually only going for a few days and love that it helps me stay organized and it’s crazy light! Inside there’s a place for everything – I keep my clothes folded on the left side and the right is perfect for shoes, toiletries, jewelry and my curling iron.

My favorite part of the suitcase is the charging station because my iPhone can’t go more than 4 hours without needing an outlet. My days of fighting for space near the charging station at the airport or siting on the floor by an outlet are over!

Having a sleek, standout suitcase makes my trips home more special and it easier to get excited about what used to be the worst part – packing and unpacking. How gorgeous is the dark green color?

I’ll be packing her up tonight for our trip to West Palm and also some other exciting trips on the horizon. We’ll be in Dallas, Chicago, Charleston, and more this year and one very big and special trip later this year!

Where are you headed this year?
