The first sign of Spring was just a faint glimmer last week, but I took the opportunity to pull out one of my favorite maxi skirts and opted for a leather jacket (and no other jackets on top!). It’s the little things :). I love this silk maxi skirt and the brushstrokes of color in it – chartreuse is secretly one of my favorite colors and it just really pops on this skirt. I have been excited to finally pair it with a sweater after seeing some street style photos from Paris Fashion Week last year, but the weather has just not cooperated! I think mixing the texture of a chunky knit sweater and a smooth, silky skirt makes for an interesting transitional combination.
I had a great weekend trip up to Wisconsin for a little skiing with old and new friends and time away from the city and the chaos. Sometimes you just need to unplug and detox from everything to re-prioritize, you know what I mean? It was also my first visit to Wisconsin and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it and the people! Aside from getting to try Spotted Cow for the first time (and loving it), the trip came to an end on such a sweet note when a stranger paid for our entire Starbucks drive-thru order on the way out of town. It was such a generous and kindhearted gesture and reminded me to think  a bit more regularly about how I could put a smile on someone’s face that I don’t even know. When was the last time you were on the receiving end of something as sweet as that?
