Have you ever had a pet peeve with a trend and absolutely, 100% refused to cave in and buy it?
Hand raised! That was me with denim jackets. For the last… I don’t know, maybe 5 years?.. I’ve outright refused to buy one. I think it was right around the time I moved back to Dallas before heading to Chicago I came back and flat out decided that denim jackets were just not for me. Loved them on other people but just couldn’t do it.
When I was in pre-school I had a matching (obviously) rhinestone denim jacket and skirt that I wore with my huge curls and although the pictures are pretty incredible, I just didn’t feel like I could take myself back to those days.
Now that they’ve been floating around again for the past few years and thanks to seeing them on friends, co-workers and all over the interwebs, I figured it was time to get over it and bring it back.
I picked up a version at Old Navy but another one of my favorites is from Madewell – one of the best stores for looking for anything denim in my opinion!

I also just bought my first denim jacket! Funny! I could never find one that looked not overly preppy on me and I’m so tall I felt like most of them cut me off in a weird part of my torso but I finally found one that worked for me and I actually really like it! I definitely am happy about the trend now!

Hi! This post caught my attention because funnily enough I also just bought a denim jacket for the first time ever! It’s such a classic for most people I don’t know how I did without one for so long but now I’m a fan. It’s a great light layer and pulls dresses together nicely!
