I have to admit, my winter rotation is getting a bit stale. Sweaters, jeans, boots, repeat. You probably know exactly what I’m talking about! Getting dressed up is trickier in the winter and let’s be honest.. there’s not a ton of motivation.
Every now and then I feel like I need to do it just to give myself that mental kick in the pants. I had been feeling a little less inspired lately so decided to pull out my go-to’s for a wintery dressed up day.
I have 3 pieces that I rely on for such a task: a simple long sleeve dress, my over the knee boots and a neutral jacket.
This long sleeve dress is a great budget buy and foundation for just about any great jacket or cardigan. A jacket like this is an easy extra layer and the faux leather is actually super warm and keeps the heat in. There’s another version of the same style in a gray blue that’s on sale, too! It’s a great transitional piece going into spring, too.
The finishing touch is to add some extra layering for the wintery wind, so I used this belt to cinch my scarf. I’ve seen a few looks pop up on Pinterest with a western belt and I’ve been wearing it with everything. What are your favorite pieces to pull out when you’re trying to dress up in the winter?

Perfect! Love, love, love today’s look.
Great outfit! What size dress are you wearing? I am same height as you are. Do you feel the dress is long enough? A reviewer said it runs tunic length but doesn’t look too short on you.
I also saw the blue Aritzia skirt you wore previously. I love the color. I have never shopped Aritzia are their clothes good for petites? Any other items recommended?
Thanks,
Heather D
but where are the tights from??! love those!
Ahhh.. they’re old but I think they were just from Nordstorm!
