I’m excited to share another part of our bedroom today! I’ve been revealing bits and pieces of our apartment (mostly because we’ve taken it slow) and love how this little corner came along.
We ended up getting the biggest dresser that we could find and it still didn’t fill up our long wall across from our bed. We have a large mirror from IKEA thanks to my old roommate, but we were still looking for something for the corner and that would give us more storage.
We searched high and low and finally found a chest with enough height and deep enough drawers to suffice. The problem was that I didn’t like the round silver knobs that came on it because it clashed with all of the other tones in the room.
After searching for ideas of what to do, I decided to swap out the knobs to see if that would change the way it looked and felt. It’s the first thing you see with the mirror when you walk into the room and I wanted it to look elevated. Not to mention, it’s a super easy and affordable way to make a less expensive piece look unique and more premium.
I scoured the web looking for knobs – Anthropologie has a lot of great options and so does CB2, but I was looking for something very specific and a little more affordable since I needed 5.
I took a quick trip to Home Depot and picked out the knobs you see above. They were just the right color and I love that they make the drawers easier to open. You simply need a screwdriver to unscrew the old knobs and install the new ones. The best part was that it cost me under $20 for the update and only took about 10 minutes! I love the end result and how quick and easy it was to make this off-the-shelf dresser look like ours.
