Now that we are more settled in our apartment and have most of our furniture we’re so excited to be able to entertain. Having space and a place to actually have people over is just the best! Neither of us barely had anywhere to sit for dinner in our last apartments, let alone a place to have a lot of people over.
My favorite place for entertaining inspiration is Anthropologie. Even though I tend to steer away from color for dining and living pieces, their colorful and fun approach to it is always inspiring for how to style your table for guests. We’re starting to round out the pieces that we needed to get a good setup going and are now just looking to fill in a few gaps.
Here are some of our entertaining favorites!
We ordered this live-edge bar shelf last summer and it immediately when out of stock. I just saw it pop back up on the site and was so excited because people who come over always ask where it’s from! It’s a beautiful and easy way to create a bar space when you don’t have a ton of room.
I just picked up these coasters for our big wooden coffee table that recently arrived. I was looking for something neutral but that would contrast against the table. I spotted these and knew they were perfect!
This cheese board has already gotten so much play – probably more so than anything in the apartment.  It’s not only beautiful but the perfect size and easy to store. It’s a great piece for your cheese or meat spread!
We have these metal hurricanes in two sizes and love them. They can go by the TV, on the coffee table or even dining table to set the mood. They’re a great piece because you can move them around within the apartment as regular decor or move them to your entertaining space.
Did you know that H&M has home goods? They’re actually great! I love these wooden salad servers with the slight contrast. It’s also a great place to pick up small things like kitchen linens and towels – they have beautiful neutral versions.
I was looking for placemats that were easy to store and easy to clean. I picked up these Serena and Lily woven placemats and they’ve added a nice contrast to our white table and are also great for outdoor entertaining if you have the space.
We’re still on the hunt for another small platter and some serving plates! Where do you find your best entertaining pieces?
