I’ve spent plenty of years damaging my skin – I never feel like I’m quite hydrated enough, wore enough sunscreen when I was younger, or deep clean my face as much as I should after living in two huge cities full of dirt and grime.

A few years back, I got hooked on Clarins skincare products after a leisurely trip to the Nordstrom beauty counter when I finally realized all of the long hours at work were catching up to me. I’ve been using one of their eye serums for close to 5 years now (true story, I’m addicted) and over the course of time have grown to love so many of their other products.

A couple of weeks ago, the Clarins team had us over for breakfast at the Macy’s flagship store to preview their new products for Spring and test a few of them out. Ever since I was a little girl I loved trying new beauty products. You could often find me in my mom’s bathroom playing with her makeup or asking what she used different things for, and still to this day I will borrow a few of her go-to’s when I’m home.

Over the past two weeks I’ve put my skin through a new routine and have been pretty amazed at the results, even in such a short amount of time. My undereyes seem smoother and my complexion is bouncing back from the terrible few weeks of lingering winter we’ve had here, not to mention a much needed moisture kick for my dry skin.

I’ll take you through my morning routine and although I don’t have a before and after (maybe I’ll eventually post a selfie, but TBD) I’m telling you firsthand I’m especially hooked on these favorites!

STEP 1

I start by applying the double serum to my entire face – the way the Clarins products work you use more of a pressing motion than a rubbing one to activate the ingredients and really get them going.

STEP 2

I follow that up with the super restorative eye concentrate and focus on my undereye area where I need the most love. There’s a plant that Clarins sourced from Madagascar in this concentrate and I think this might be where I saw the most immediate results – it combats so many different elements to eye treatment that I appreciate from all of my late nights working on projects and such!

STEP 3

Next up is the multi-active day cream. This one in particular is good for all skin types (I’m combination oily and dry) and I’ve been using it as my main moisturizer. It’s light and not oily or heavy on my skin.

STEP 4

Clarins has developed a UV-plus broad spectrum and Anti-Pollution sunscreen that is super lightweight and a new daily must-have of mine. If you’re not familiar broad spectrum is important for protecting your skin from both UVA and UVB rays. The real kicker though is the anti-pollution part. Someone compared it to seeing tall buildings that are extremely dirty – essentially that’s what is happening to my face from just living in New York City and I love that I have a shield now to keep some of that from seeping into my skin.

STEP 5

I let my skincare routine set in and take a break to do my hair or get dressed, and when my face feels dry I turn to the Everlasting Foundation. This is a new one for me and a pleasant surprise for my really long days at work. It’s definitely a more full coverage foundation, which is great for nights when I can’t go home before running to meet friends. It also has an SPF in it which is key, and a light but divine plant scent that makes me feel like I’m not putting on makeup. I have been using beige and sand because I’m in between seasons.

STEP 6

That’s actually it for my face, but I like to leave with something on my lips these days. I love lipstick for certain occasions, but during the work week most days want something moisturizing but with a slight tint. I’ve been throwing on these light lip balm perfectors that keep my lips moist through most of the day. I’ll top it off with one of the coolest products I’ve seen lately, their lip oil that really adds a lot of shine but soothes and nourishes at the same time.

And that’s what gets me through the morning and out the door! I’m really excited about the results so far and how much it’s saving my skin. What are your go-to skincare products?
