IT’S HERE!

I’m so excited to announce that the J.Crew x Universal Standard collection has arrived and is finally available for you guys to see and purchase! I’ve been keeping this one close to the chest for a few months and am so happy to have a chance to tell you guys more about the collection and the experience.

First and foremost – thank you to J.Crew and Universal Standard for allowing me to be a part of such a beautiful collaboration. This first-of-its-kind collection is exactly what we’ve been waiting for. Modern essentials for every body. I’ve been a fan of J.Crew for a few decades now, and although being shot in a campaign wouldn’t have probably been on my bucket list initially it was truly a dream come true and an opportunity I hope to never forget–especially this one in particular.

I felt so honored to get to be in the presence of the powerful women that were also a part of the shoot – @bonjourclem, @preciousleexoxo, @katherinemhowe and @mynamesdiana are all forces to be reckoned with and so insanely gorgeous. Talk about feeling intimidated by beauty and grace!

One of my favorite parts of the shoot prep and day was getting to see all of the pieces in the collection. As the girls came out ready to shoot various looks we would ooo and ahh at the tops, pants and dresses making mental note of the pieces we definitely wanted to scoop up when it dropped. I fell in love with the tunic dress on Katherine and of course the jumpsuit I was wearing (but we’ll get to that in a bit) and also loved this modern track pant that can be dressed up or down.

We each shot two looks and filmed a bit of video where we all had a chance to meet the co-founder of Universal Standard, Alex Waldman. The hits were blaring, the wind machine was blowing, and we were all super excited to be a part of the day. I loved having a chance to interact with Alex a bit (we were both wearing the jumpsuit) and getting a chance to hear her perspective on what a step in a positive direction this collaboration was. The collection was designed so that each piece in the collection was fit to women of all sizes instead of scaling a single set of measurements. The result was a line of clothes that feel tailored to everyone. I love when Alex and I hug it out at the end of the video because it perfectly sums up the day and the experience.

Let’s talk about the looks!

Look #1: Peplum Dress & Sandals

My first look was a peplum dress and ankle tie sandals styled with these tortoise hoop earrings.  It was a relaxed, yet playful twist on a summer outfit that you could wear to something as casual as a picnic or the park.

Look #2: Jumpsuit, Denim Jacket + Sandals

This jumpsuit is now officially my favorite thing that I own. I probably asked them 5 different times what the material is called, because it’s SO GOOD. We paired it with a staple denim jacket and easy slides for a daytime look that can easily transition with a pair of heels and a blazer for an evening update.
