The Trench

Fall is about to be in full swing and I’m finally embracing the crisper temperatures and opportunities to wear light layers. It’s perfect trenchcoat weather these days – right in the 60’s/70’s where you can still pull off a dress or skirt but a long sleeve is necessary.

I have been on the hunt for a leather sleeved trench coat for I can’t even tell you how long! I like the mix of textures and that it looks great belted over a dress (for other petites it’s almost a full look on its own that way) or open for a more casual look. The contrast of colors in the sleeves make it easy to play with bolder prints like a leopard blouse or a striped sweater for a casual, dressed down look with jeans.

My favorite trick for tying loose belts is to pull one loop through like you’re going to make a bow, but leave the other side hanging. I think it adds a unique touch over a traditional bow!
