One of my favorite songs to sing when things are really haywire is ‘Joyful, Joyful’. Over the years I’ve learned that the best way to combat stress and fear is to just take a step back and be grateful for the things that are going right.
It could be something as little as a text from a friend, a sweet comment from a stranger, a funny picture that makes you crack up laughing, spending 5 minutes watching the sunset with no computer or phone, or a simple card in the mail.
So if you’re feeling a little overwhelmed this week, here’s what you do… take those flowers and put them right in front of your face. If you can’t stop and smell the roses wherever you are and with whatever is going on.. you have to make it impossible not to. So hold those babies up, breathe it in, and just smile.
