Life In New York City: Volume 3

life in new york city, life updates

I’m a few months behind on this one, and ironically only 2 months away from my 1 year mark, but hey.. better late than never right? We finally made it through the end of winter (thank goodness) and Spring came and went a little too quickly. I can’t believe it’s the beginning of June already!

I’ve been a busy bee with a handful of visitors and lots of things going on around the city. Here are some of my favorite snaps as of late and per usual, 10 of my favorite things from the past few months!

Rifle Paper Co x LeSportsac launch

One of the best things about living in the city is the plethora of fun events always going on. I had the pleasure of attending the launch party for the Rifle Paper Co x LeSportsac collaboration, and I have to tell you it’s as adorable as you would think. Not to mention, Anna Rifle Bond might be the cutest and sweetest pregnant woman I’ve ever met!

Circling Manhattan

On my way back from Miami, we were 30 minutes early and our pilot ended up circling the entire island at sunset before landing. I have to say as a window seat girl, it was one of my favorite flights I’ve ever taken just because I’ve never seen the entire city from the sky like that. I’m spoiled on a 360 degree view of the city from the 45th floor in Midtown, but there’s nothing like seeing the whole city from the sky! Stunning.

Visitors

I’ve had several friends and my parents come to visit over the past few weeks and it’s been such a blast. One of my close friends from Chicago, Andrea, was here for a long weekend and an extended work trip and we spent the weekend laughing extremely hard and doing just the right amount of must-see’s and relaxing.

New York Nights

I alluded to this in a recent post, but lately I’ve been spending as much time as possible enjoying these summer New York nights. We had a birthday celebration at one of my favorite rooftop bars a few weeks back and had the chance to get all dressed up for no reason – one of my favorite pastimes :).

Brunchin’

I try to keep an ongoing list of the places I’ve been because it’s so easy to forget, so here are a few of my recent favorites: Tiny’s & The Bar Upstairs, Hotel Americano, & Butcher’s Daughter.

Late Sunsets

I absolutely hate running. I really can’t even tell you how much I don’t enjoy it.. except for maybe once a month.. when I’m needing to let off just the right amount of steam, and the sunset is extra pretty.

Minetta Lane

One of my favorite streets in the city for how quiet and lowkey it seems, but secretly amazing at the same time – we went to Perla (a new favorite) on the street with my parents when they were in town and I fell even more in love with the charm of the neighborhood.

One World Trade Center

I admit, I hadn’t been down there since the move and have only admired it from afar. I have a few friends who work in the building and their Snapchats also suffice, but I finally made the trek down with my parents during their visit. It was surreal and such a strong reminder of the resilience of our country. We really enjoyed the new observatory deck that just opened and I’d recommend for anyone in from out of town for the stunning views.

Crawfish For Cancer

A Texas girl at heart I’m a sucker for a good crawfish boil – something we used to do often in college. While this one wasn’t quite the same it was a total blast and for a great cause. Who doesn’t love a little Saturday sweet tea and crawfish?

Looking forward to a fun summer and have a bucket list coming soon!
