The View From 5 Ft. 2

Life Lately Vol. 7

flatiron, nyc

Do you ever wake up and just know that this week is going to be a good one? That’s how I feel today. It’s the official first day of spring, there’s a lot to look forward to this week, and Saturday is MG and I’s anniversary. I realized I haven’t done one of these in a while, so here’s what’s been going on lately!

New brunch spot

We celebrated MG’s sister’s birthday the other weekend and had brunch at Upland in Flatiron. Not only was the food delicious, but the decor was beautiful and I wanted to take it all home. I highly recommend – it’s just off of Madison Square Park (and the Obamas ate there the same weekend, too!)

Apartment updates

Our coffee table arrived and we’re absolutely loving it. We have our couch arriving in the next few weeks and that should do it for furniture right now (woo hoo!). The last step is just to decide what exactly we’re hanging from the walls. I’m looking for good gallery wall inspiration if you have any!

New workout classes

If you live in the city and ever want to go to a class that will leave you laughing and one where you just simply have fun and that’s all there is to it, you should go to Banana Skirt. You can learn the choreography to popular songs like “Sorry” and some of your throwback favorites. We just recently went and are going again – even though we are probably not signing back up dancer contracts anytime soon it’s a blast. I’m trying to get a good rotation going with Barrys, Pop Physique and Y-7 yoga now that it’s not freezing outside, too.

Dallas trip

If it doesn’t warm up completely here by the end of the month, that’s ok because we’re headed down south where it’s currently 85 degrees and sunny. We’re going to see my family for a little longer than usual and I cannot wait to be sitting outside on a patio with a margarita in hand! I’m also going to get to see some friends I don’t always get a chance to say hi to when I’m home so I’m really looking forward to that.

New shows

So we just started watching “The Missing” and we’re completely hooked. With that, Big Little Lies, and recently finishing Red Oaks on Amazon we’ve really been binge watching our way through Winter.

2 years

I realize that not everyone has a real anniversary that they celebrate, but for us it’s pretty easy – our first date was 2 years ago this Saturday and nothing has been the same since that extremely fun night. It’s crazy to think about how much has changed in that short time, but I’m excited to celebrate it all this weekend.

Are you as ready for spring as I am?!
