It’s hard to believe that the year is almost over and that in just a few days I’ll be 30. How did that happen?!
I’ve been thinking about it a lot over the past few months, mostly because it doesn’t seem possible, but also to gather some thoughts on the things I’ve learned in my 20’s and deciding how I want to start this next phase of my life. (more to come later this week!)
On the style front, I’ve realized that I tend to gravitate towards the things that I love and those are usually the nicer things that I invest in. This outfit is a great example. It’s a compilation of all of my current favorites – I waited a long time for this jacket to come back in stock and finally decided to bring it home in this caramel color. It was one of those pieces that you put on and instantly fell in love with. I have a tough time with jackets and proportions, but this one fit like a glove.
I scooped up this cami over the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales hoping it would be a nice little addition and bring something else to my wardrobe as of late besides sweaters and it didn’t disappoint.
Have you heard people talking about this concept of “fewer nicer things“? It’s been ringing in my head as of late, especially with this birthday around the corner this weekend. I’m setting aside a ton of things in my closet that were “one and dones” and will be making sure that next year anything I add to my closet meets the following criteria:
1. It makes me really excited
2. It’s made to last for well beyond a year
3. It has high re-wear value
Since my birthday happens to fall on the same day as the new year, I’ve also been thinking about resolutions for next year and goals I’m setting for myself. I’ll be sharing those later this week! What are your resolutions for 2017?
