There are some nights where you’ll find me curled up on the couch with a glass of wine.. and Pinterest (usually only Tuesdays, not the night for my shows!). It’s one of my guilty pleasures and keeps my creativity going when it’s very easy to get lost in the monotony of my closet and things I tend to gravitate to (like black and white).
As a petite, I used to shy away from the idea of oversized coats. I often felt like I would look like I was drowning in it, but the more I’ve seen the more inspired I am to give it a shot. I think the trick is to make sure you find one that hits above the knee if you’re not tall – even a boyfriend-style peacoat will do the trick.
I’ve hunted down a few favorites of mine! There are options for the frugal fashionista and also if you’re wanting to invest a little more. I admit that after living in Chicago for 3 years (and originally only having 1 coat that I bought the day I moved there), I have quite the coat collection. I have my staples but it’s fun to pick up a plaid or colored version.
P.S. – My trick is to look up the length of a coat I own online and see how long it is as a comparison (I don’t own a measuring tape.. and isn’t that what the internet is for? #helpme)
Happy Hunting!
