I was never really a lipstick girl until my move to Chicago a few years back. My friend Arleigh actually was one of the first few people who I noticed wore lipstick almost everytime we went out and eventually I decided she had something going that I wanted to try.
It’s how most things start – you try just one shade of red and a couple of swipes later you realize how that little stick can instantly transform whatever outfit you’ve thrown together. First it was an orange red, and then a cherry red, bright shades of pink, light shades of nude and finally deeper, vampier burgundy and dark red.
Now I find myself grabbing one pretty regularly! I keep them in a little dish on my vanity for easy access near my jewelry so I don’t forget when I’m putting on my finishing touches.
I love the idea of wearing a chunky knit and traditional scarf over a playful, textured leather skater skirt. I tend to mix and match when it comes to styles so I don’t feel too overdone one way or the other and loved how this plays a bit traditional but still fresh with the leather skirt.
I cannot believe it’s Christmas Eve you guys! What a year and so much to be thankful for. It’s just 8 days until 2015 (and my birthday!) and I am already starting to enter into reflective mode. But for now, I’m savoring this night and tomorrow with my family and nephew. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from our family to yours! xo

Thank you Lauren! :)
[…] + Grey: Love Christine’s everyday look with a grey turtleneck and a red plaid scarf. We have definitely moved to full wintery looks here […]
Very nice Christine. I wear something very similar! Although I add boots instead of pumps, I may try pumps as well. Trust you had a very merry Christmas and have a fun time on NYE and have a wonderful birthday. Regards. Deb
You should totally try the pumps! Thank you Deb, hope you had a wonderful NYE!
i love this combo! and also jealous that it appears to be warmer in NY than Chicago, miss you!
