Top: J.Crew boyfriend cardigan (worn backwards), The Limited faux fur wrap scarf (c/o)  |  Bottom: Topshop printed shorts, Target opaque tights, Colin Stuart suede ankle booties  |  Extras: Balenciaga bag (vintage), Bauble Bar x Honestly WTF necklace, Ariella stacked rings
I’m at it again with another backwards sweater look! I told you last week, but I’m really trying to figure out ways to make my closet more exciting because (a) I refuse to buy any more winter clothes unless they were things already on my “looking for” list and (b) I’m over it and ready for summer. In my previous post I used a short, striped cardigan with some statement buttons. This time I took another idea from the list I had made you guys and went for a V-Neck boyfriend cardigan in my favorite color: Poppy.
You’ve noticed it’s the accent color on my blog, I own poppy colored pants (that I can’t wait to wear again when my ankles won’t have a chance of getting frostbite), my favorite everyday Rebecca Minkoff bag is in that color, etc. .. you get it, I’m obsessed. Recently it’s been a topic of conversation with some of my friends — one of which is debating switching her bridesmaid dresses to that color from gray. If you’ve ever been afraid to give it a whirl and step away from traditional red, here’s why I love it:
- It’s brighter and bolder without using a print /Â if you’re not a big pattern person you can pair poppy with literally any color and it serves as your statement
- It looks good on almost any skin tone /Â and if you have a tan.. boom. It’s like an insta-enhancer for it
I have always thought it would be a fun color for bridesmaid dresses, don’t you? If you have any thoughts/experience with it to share with my friend I’ll definitely pass it along! I’m slowly starting to let myself shop for Spring clothes mainly to keep myself from going crazy and am currently on the hunt for more short like these that trick you into thinking they’re a skirt. The flouncy shape at the bottom hides the shorts-factor and I love that. What are the items you’re on the hunt for? Let me know if I can ever help!
