This weekend was the perfect balance of relaxation and fun. Saturday I went with some of my closest friends to a new restaurant that just opened in Lincoln Park — it’s called Summer House Santa Monica and truly made me forget I was in Chicago and that it was nearly winter. The food and atmosphere are fantastic, it’s easily one of my new favorite spots here.

Most weekends I end up dressing more casual than I do for work because I’m running around all over the city trying to check everything off my to-do list and wearing a complicated outfit is the worst when you’re needing to change in a dressing room .. you know exactly what I’m talking about. A few weeks ago I went dark again with my hair and Saturday I chopped several inches off in layers and feel completely rejuvenated. It’s crazy how a good haircut can change everything!

My favorite “comfy” but still cute shirt of all time is this long sleeve, super soft James Perse number that drapes a bit in the back (my fave) and I paired it with my legging + boot + jacket + scarf standard Fall Saturday errand look for the day. Infinity scarves are my favorite way to add another dimension and texture to a fairly simple outfit, while also keeping me warm so I don’t have to wear as heavy of a coat (more to be found here and here). I scooped up this jacket at a boutique in Lakeview one weekend and love the cut of the back and the different textures. It’s the little things that really jump out and make me decide to buy something as simple as a (faux) leather jacket. What’s your go to Saturday look?

xo,
