You know, I hate to admit it but sometimes the boys just have it right. There’s something about a simple stripe that works on just about everyone. If you ride the subway to work in New York City you’re bound to see many a suited man usually in some form of striped or plaid button down.

While I don’t have to dress as formal as the gents that I see on my way to work, I like to pull out a little polish every now and then. Also, you just can’t go wrong with a polished blouse, dark denim and nude pumps.

Thanks to Jenna Lyons I find myself more often than not adding striped blouse after striped blouse to my cart. She has an affinity for menswear inspired pieces and it’s obvious when you walk through any J.Crew store or peruse the site. For the petites I’d definitely recommend going for a size up from your normal if you’re looking for a boyfriend fit, and a size down if you want something more snug (and don’t forget about the petite line!).

I cannot believe Thanksgiving is almost here! I’m looking forward to turkey, stuffing and squeezing my family next week when I get home. After a productive and reasonably quiet weekend I’m excited to make this last 6 weeks of the year some of the best yet!
