It must be the bustling city and overabundance of suits and impeccable style, but I’ve found myself a bit dressier for work these days. I laugh a little to myself when I think back at the horrible things I used to wear to work when I first graduated from college. I really thought that you had to be stuffy to be “business casual”, but really I’ve learned that you can put your own spin on it.

My work attire is thankfully pretty casual and admittedly much more fashion forward than most can be, but it doesn’t mean you can’t find your own niche in it. I enjoy giving a little edgy touch to most of my looks, like camo shoes or a sleek black accessory. Recently I’ve been on a “scuba” kick. If you’re thinking the material of what you wore in in the ocean when you were 5, you’re on point.

The material has been making a huge comeback with a big push a few seasons back from Proenza Schouler and Michael Kors and now you can see it all over your fast fashion favorites, like ASOS. It gives a streamlined and slightly elevated feel to anything from a midi skirt to a high neck top. This one in particular was my favorite find on the Nordstrom Anniversary sale (and somehow I haven’t seen it on a single other person yet!).

How do you keep your work style fresh and unique to you?

P.S. These Bauble Bar tassel earrings are back in stock + a great statement that pairs well with black LBD’s.. I wore them to a wedding recently and they were a hit!
