I’ve been struggling with inspiration lately and have found myself drawn to the posts by friends sharing more about what their real lives are like, so today I’m going to share what my day to day really looks like!
My days are actually pretty routine since I have a full time job and just blog on the side. Honestly my social schedule usually dictates more of my week than anything else – from what I wear to work to how late I’m out at night, obviously. Thankfully we are sans pets and babies at this point in life and get to enjoy the best part of living in NYC – embracing the city and wherever the days (and nights) take you.
So here we go!
MORNING
I’ve been experimenting with a new skincare routine, so I start my day with Bobbi Brown remedies (instead of a moisturizer) and then apply a primer.
I just recently started using the Laura Mercier oil free foundation and the Laura Mercier concealer in 3.7.  It’s the first time I’ve tried a new concealer in years, but I’m sold after just a week. I’ll then apply something to my brows (either Glossier boy brow or a new liner I’m trying out) and a little bronzer or blush followed by a few swipes of mascara.
I’ve been trying to be better about blow drying my hair this winter because it does wonders for me the next day, so I use a round brush and this new T3 hair dryer that makes my hair silky smooth. I like to wear my hair curled most days and will use a 1.5″ curling iron and some velcro rollers for a loose curl.
After that, I’m off to the closet to get dressed and quickly take my vitamins with some orange juice before heading out the door to the subway.
On the train I only have about 15 minutes so I am either a) editing photos to post that day for Instagram or b) doing my daily Elevate. I started this in January and it takes you through 3 exercises that just keep your mind sharp. I try not to miss any sessions!
AFTERNOON
My mornings at work are usually busy, but lunchtime is our favorite part of the day. Our office is in Flatiron and we have arguably the best lunch game in the city. Here are my favorites:
$$$ – The Smith, Izakaya Nomad, Eataly, Maysville, Sugarfish, La Pecora Bianca, Wagamama, Tappo, Tacombi
$$ – Sweetgreen, Mulberry & Vine, Digg Inn, Little Beet, byChloe, Chop Shop II, Maui Onion, Mangia, Hill Country, Num Pang
$ – Oxido, Lenny’s, Chipotle, Mexicue, Shake Shack, Hale & Hearty, No. 7 Sub, Melt Shop
Some days my friend Marisa will help me shoot a quick look on the way back from lunch (like this one!) and it’s fun to get to play with the camera a bit since I’m trying to get better at photography this year.
EVENING
If I’m not working out after work (I love Barry’s, Y-7 and am getting into Pop Physique) it’s usually straight home to see MG and figure out what we’re doing for dinner. We’re getting into cooking and are trying to do one new meal a week. Our cookbook is actually on sale right now and I highly recommend it!
After that we either curl up on the couch and catch up on a show we’re watching (we highly recommend Red Oaks on Amazon, and if you haven’t seen The Crown yet we loved it) or turn on the Rangers game and I’ll work into the wee hours of the night.
Then it’s off to bed with my sleep mask and back at it again the next day!
What are your days like?
