I’ve been trying to find the silver lining in the delay of summer weather here and so far I’ve just come up with 2 things: 1) less sun damage and 2) more time for long sleeve/short hem combos. I have rarely had the luxury of wearing long sleeves and shorts or skirts — it’s normally either sweltering or freezing, and it’s actually my favorite combo. Give me a long sleeve comfy top and cutoffs any day and I’m a happy girl. I recently did a post on some cute patterned plays on suits, so I decided to try a monochrome look with some pops of color via jewelry. My obsession with this skort continues, and I combined it with a patterned top and statement necklace for 2 events I went to last week — Kelly Edwards of HGTV’s book launch party at E-Drop Off and the grand re-opening of the Ann Taylor Loft store on Michigan Ave. I had a blast at both events with my dear friend Andrea and was snapped by Amelia of the CHICago life blog (loved seeing you!). I’m determined to make the most of this crazy weather with some new ideas. Are you up for shorts/skort suits, or is it not your thing?
Oh and thanks to someone who works in our building for the moped cameo. Little did you know I was contemplating getting one for about 5 minutes… then I realized I can barely ride a bike. Happy Tuesday!
