Cutoff shorts are a weakness of mine and I find myself wanting to dress them up and down all summer long and into the Fall while I still can. After hunting far and wide for an “appropriate” pair, I was so happy to find that Free People had an affordable, boyfriend style pair last year. They have a similar version this year that’s pretty darn close, too! My favorite thing about them is that you can roll up the edges for a shorter look or leave them down and let them hang on your hips for a true boyfriend style.
I’ve been building up my staples and a crisp white blazer was definitely on the list. It’s a closet must have and I was excited to pick up the same favorite version finally in white. I invested in a black Helmut Lang number that I wear all of the time, but for these colors opted for more affordable versions.
I wore this outfit to dinner one Friday night recently and loved that it was a casual but dressed up way to wear shorts. It could easily be made more casual by swapping the ankle strap sandals for gladiator sandals, d’orsay flats or my new favorite camo oxfords that will be making their debut very soon. How are you keeping your shorts in your rotation as summer winds down?
