This past weekend was beautiful. I almost forgot that it snowed last week when I came back into the city on Saturday afternoon. The snow had melted and you really only needed a coat and a long-sleeve shirt. Oh, what a joyful hiatus it was.
I know it’s only the beginning of February and we’ve had the mildest winter I’ve seen here or in Chicago in 5 years thus far, but I really do need some sunshine and warmer temperatures to lift my spirits a bit. I think last week I hit the winter doldrums where nothing seemed to be near as exciting as it should’ve been.
When it comes to my weekend style during the winter, I’m extra casual and just love to layer up in comfortable clothes. I’ve halted any other winter shopping, because I’m patiently waiting on Spring to come early (after all the groundhog said so). I had been looking for some casual sneakers that are not only comfortable but wearable with regular clothes too. These definitely fit the bill and with a layered sweater, vest and beanie I’m ready for any of my weekend errands in a snap. You can easily swap in snow boots if you’re wading through piles of powder like we are here this week.
I’m really looking forward to the long weekend and getting to spend some quality time with MG and our friends. Also, I almost forgot.. it’s NYFW this week! I’ll be laying pretty low for the most part this time around, mostly because it’s so cold and now that it’s spread out a lot more difficult to go to everything. But, I will be hopping around to a few things so don’t forget to follow along over on Instagram!
