My biggest issue with dressing for business casual attire was always this stigma that it had to be boring. I used to feel so uninspired to wear anything that would’ve been “office appropriate” in my old, more corporate job. I think right out of school it’s overwhelming to start dressing like that every day and so it’s easy to get stuck in a rut.
Every now and then I’ll pull together quick looks that could work for a regular office job and could also transition to drinks or a happy hour post-work. This one was from two Mondays ago – I had a birthday dinner right after work to run to for one of our best friends, Arleigh. I went for a simple black tulip skirt (great for petites because of the high waist) and one of my favorite blouses.
I tucked the strap of my crossbody bag into the purse to quickly turn my versatile city bag into an evening-ready clutch without having to bring another option. I also was having a rough hair day (Mondays, ya know?) and so went for a more centered part and low bun. I’ve been experimenting with my hair a bit more than usual and after seeing Olivia pull it off so effortlessly decided to give it a try. I’m not sure if it’s really me, what do you think?
This is a busy and exciting week.. lots to share with you guys soon! Hope you had a great weekend!
